THURSDAY EVENING’s at the SCOTTISH HALL

Every Thursday evening at 7.45pm we have a social evening at the Society’s Hall in Shelbourne Road, to which anyone is invited. Come and make friends. You do not have to be Scottish. We would love to see some new faces. It is a friendly club. We either have a speaker or a Ceilidh or some other entertainment to start the evening, and the second half is dancing. The entrance fee is £3. (£2.50 for members) and this includes refreshments.

Our Spring Dance & Buffet Supper will be held in the SCOTTISH HALL Shelbourne Road Bournemouth on Saturday 3rd of March. This has proved to be a popular event in past years so get your tickets now by phoning

BURNS NIGHT with the Bournemouth Caledonian Society 2012

Our traditional BURNS NIGHT will be held on January 26
at DAYS HOTEL [formerly known as The Marsham Court Hotel] 6pm for 6.30pm. Tickets £26 each. Dress formal. You can reserve a table if some of you wish to sit together. This is a great Scottish evening where we pay tribute to our Bard and have some fun.

SCOTTISH DANCING AT HIGHCLIFFE CASTLE Sunday 7th AUGUST 2011

Come and join us at Highcliffe Castle on the 7th August, when the Bournemouth Caledonian Society will host an afternoon of Scottish Country Dancing for all, with some Team Dancing as well and Highland Dancing. This is a beautiful place and there are tea rooms with tables outside where you can sit and watch. Or you can bring a chair and a picnic. A lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. ( Hopefully the weather will be nice! It has been so far.) Hope to see you there.

The Bournemouth Caledonian Society is holding their Burns Night Dinner Dance at the Marsham Court Hotel on Friday 21st January. Everything is done according to Scottish tradition with a real love of our National Bard Robert Burns. The Haggis is piped in and addressed with a poem. There are Burns’s songs and Scottsh and Ceilidh dancing to end the evening. To all who enjoy Scottish tradition done with dignity but enjoyment, this is where to come.

Our tickets are £26.00 this year. (Dress formal) These can be obtained from the Social Secretary @ 01202 570090 and must be paid for in advance. Our Society welcomes newcomers and visitors and you will be made to feel welcome Look forward to seeing you there maybe?

DANCING at HIGHCLIFFE CASTLE 2010

On Sunday AUGUST 1st at Highcliffe Castle The Society will be doing SCOTTISH dancing in the grounds from 1pm till 3pm. All are welcome to come and join in with us and entry is free. This is a lovely place to spend an afternoon and the Castle cafe is open for teas. A collection will be taken for our chosen charity this year. Hope to see you there.

CLASSES for beginners and others in SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCING

If you want to have fun and exercise and learn how to dance come to the Scottish Hall on Monday evenings Shelbourne Road, off Charminster Rd, Bournemouth. It is 7.30 for complete beginners. Our RSCDS qualified teacher will be delighted to see you. It is £2.50 a session including refreshments. If you want to speak to anyone about the class please ring 01202 570090 You do not need a partner, any age is welcome and you do not have to be a Scot. See you there?
